As a violinist and composer Yannick Hiwat combines jazz with gospel, hip-hop and classical music. In the Netherlands he became known with the Rotterdam-based Re:Freshed Orchestra and was artist in residence at de Doelen and The Concertgebouw. With his quintet he brings his own compositions to life. The compositions fit within contemporary jazz and at the same time reveal a love for gospel, hip-hop and classical music.

Yannick Hiwat is a violinist and will be performing the musical accompaniment during New Beginnings x Spoken Word at the Opera Forward Festival 2022.
