Live experience and Virtual Reality. Ancient myths and new stories. Opera based on true stories and real phantasy. Experience the Opera Forward Festival from 5 to 13 March and discover all the wonderful things that opera can be, featuring works by grand masters and a new generation of artists. With opera, music theatre, video art, poetry and talks, OFF opens up the art form. The sixth edition of the festival embraces the theme of 'New Beginnings' and features various (world) premieres, including German composer Manfred Trojahn’s long-awaited new opera. OFF invites you to discover what opera can mean to you!

Kévin Bray studied graphic design at L'Ésaab in Nevers, France, and is currently involved with the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam. Especially for OFF, he has created new work that relates to New Beginnings, the theme of this edition.

Spoken word artist Veronique Efomi is, in her own words, 'a hopping bridge between the audience and hidden emotions'. Veronique uses themes such as her youth, relationships, various taboos, fears and femininity. Veronique's performance is part of Spoken Word X New Beginnings on 12 March.

Lev Avitan (1996) is philosopher, spoken word artist and theatre maker and prefers to combine all three of these disciplines at the same time. Before the Eurydice – Die Liebenden, blind he shares his personal interpretation of the story of Orpheus and Eurydice.
