Katia Ledoux

When: Saturday 12 March | 16:45

Location: Dutch National Opera & Ballet, Foyer

The young French mezzo-soprano Katia Ledoux was born in Paris, but grew up in Austria. When she was six years old, she joined the Boys Choir Schubert Sängerknaben Wien and in 2008 she received the first prize in The Austrian Prima la Musica competition for young soloists. A year later, she was admitted to the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and under the guidance of Ulf Bästlein she studied at the University of Music and Art in Graz. There, she debuted at the MUMUTH as Frau von Luber in Kurt Weill’s Der Silberseeand as the Mother in Gian Carlo Menotti’s Amahl and The Night Visitors at Oper Graz. In seasons 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 the mezzo-soprano joined the International Opera Studio in Zurich.

However, at OFF 2022 Katia presents, apart from opera, also a very different sound! During her program Opera Goes Pop she will perform works by great artists such as Franz Schubert and George Bizet, but also such as Pharell Williams, Radiohead and Alicia Keys.
