As a philosopher and psychiatrist, Damiaan Denys thinks about fear and freedom, (ab)normality, mind and brain, death and life at the intersection of the disciplines of psychiatry, philosophy and neuroscience. Denys has been professor of psychiatry at the University of Amsterdam (UVA) and head of the department of psychiatry at the Amsterdam University Medical Center since 2007.

During the Opera Forward Festival 2022, he will give an introduction to the performance Denis & Katya on Friday, March 11.
