Spoken word artist Amara van der Elst lives in Rotterdam, but her home is on stage. Amara translates stories from life into words and/or movement. Starting out as winner of the Language category at Kunstbende Zuid-Holland, she went on to become a spoken word artist at Woorden Worden Zinnen in the PAARD in The Hague, Bevrijdingsfestivals, Nieuwe Luxor and more. She is now nationally known for her recitation on De Dam Square during the Nationale Dodenherdenking.
